What is the JetBrains SpaceCode?

SpaceCode focuses on optimizing the developer workflow and keeping the main branch green until your changes are implemented. By integrating with your current issue tracker, IDE, and CI/CD system, SpaceCode combines everything into a single flow. It will help you and your team iterate on tasks quicker by integrating your changes more frequently.

First and foremost, SpaceCode will assist you with two main tasks:

  1. Enforcing code standards. You can easily set push restrictions, protect branches, employ quality gates, streamline collaboration with code owners, and add an extra layer of protection to your main branch with Safe Merge.
  2. Improving your team’s code review experience for authors and reviewers. Check out our reworked, lightweight code review UI – try the Suggested Reviewers feature, accept suggestions in a single click, send your comments in batches, use sticky approvals, and more.

Moreover, we’ve improved our external integrations and developed new ones. Now, you can integrate SpaceCode with your current toolset, including CI/CD tools such as TeamCity and Jenkins, issue tracking tools like YouTrack and Jira, JetBrains IDEs, Slack, and Qodana. And that’s just the beginning – we’re already working on integrating even more tools.

The latest version of the Space mobile app has been designed to enhance your development experience. With this update, you can try the SpaceCode mobile app, which includes a reworked UI emphasizing code reviews and repositories. You can merge, assign reviewers, manage code reviews, monitor recent changes, leave comments, and reply to discussions. To try the new and improved app, update to the latest version (2024.2), available in both Google Play and the App Store. Then, simply follow the instructions provided in our documentation.

From May 27, 2024, you’ll receive access to all SpaceCode Git hosting and code review features, even if your current Space tier doesn’t include some of them. For example, if you’re on the Team plan, you’ll have access to push restrictions for repositories and quality gates in merge requests. All Git hosting and code review features will be available in Space and SpaceCode.
