Inviting people?
Do people need to have a jetbrains account to use Space? Testing it out and added one of my burner emails as a member and I see no way to actually be able to login to the team space ;)

You don't need JetBrains account in order to use Space.
Did you receive an invitation to your email address after inviting a member?
